Opening doors to emerging artists is an opening to the future of culture and conversation. The thrill and beauty of finding art, being able to provide agency and a home to these artists is always going to be the highlight of my career. There is so much beauty in the world that demands celebration so why not start now?
Centre for Art Based Methodologies & Wellbeing started its “Artist of the Month” program June 2023. Our program is to curate and house as many emerging artists as possible and have them displayed for a month at Nani Ghar, CFAW. Everyone is invited to join and celebrate beauty with us.
The dance of the static... A new format of collage and photography with in-depth reflection encapsulates Ray’s work in play and surrealism. The spark of the creative capacity of brain happens in a blink for some artists, who look at the sky and see a cloud as base for a da Vinci sketch.
For us, Ray’s work like her professional practice worked like therapy.. a new format of just beautiful artistic therapy. The kind that makes you dream! Layer by layer we find something more exciting. patchwork pixelscape, is rooted in conveying a simple message: art exists everywhere. With an academic and professional background that lives in a sphere far away from any artistic realms, Ray seeks to encircle the two, merging them into one ray-scape. Join us in celebrating Ray-Scape this month!

No introduction for ray is complete without a mention of their most cherished companion: their old Fujifilm camera. Ray is an art enthusiast and photographer best defined by their curiosity and love for the lived experiences of those they come to meet.
Fascinated by the way things work, they often incorporate the stories of their subjects into their creations. Their work lives on as an ode to all that they see, and the way that they see them: perhaps a little out of focus, with colours that aren’t entirely rooted in reality, and with a heavy serving of adoration.
This collection, Patchwork Pixelscape, is rooted in conveying a simple message: art exists everywhere. With an academic and professional background that lives in a sphere far away from any artistic realms, Ray seeks to encircle the two, merging them into one ray-scape.
Through collages and cyanotypes, plain and surreal photography, Ray creates an archive of memories: yours, and their own.

Ray Syed's debut collection will be on display at Nani Ghar, CFAW from 8th September 2023 to 22nd September 2023. You are all invited to the Exhibition Opening followed by a Chai Baithak to come and celebrate art with us.
