There is something admirable about beauty within heartbreak – especially in Karachi. The city is full of heartbreaks from its broken roads, the loneliness they often carry, to the silences in between its noise and of course the never-ending construction of the University Road. 

Heartbreak creeps through the city in whimsical ways at times – sometimes it is poetry at the back of a truck that encapsulates the very specific situation you’re going through, an advice from a stranger that stuck with you, the plants that find ways to grow in between concrete and bricks. Let’s map out all of these happenings together! 

Life is about celebrating beauty, even when it isn’t beautiful. This workshop explores the beauty within heartbreak through creativity and expressive art methods. What does heartbreak in the city look like for you? How does it look like collectively for all of us if we were to hold space for each other and map it out together? 

You don’t need any specific creative experience for this workshop, just an open mind, an open heart, a lot of feelings... and some love for poetry on trucks, rickshaws and buses.
