Drawing Room: Spaces & Perspectives
Drawing Room: Spaces & Perspectives
Thursday, September 4, 2025
6:00 to 8:00
In-Person
Facilitator: Omer Ahmed
Exploring the idea of personal comfort spaces—places, symbols, or feelings that represent safety, ease, and belonging. By working in pairs, we'll be reflecting on creativity, and deeper interpersonal connection and hope to open up the space for open dialogue about comfort, identity, and imagination.
We'll reflect on one personal object and re-imagine it as a character that holds their memories, moods, and stories. We’ll use drawing, writing, or collage to explore what this object might say if it could speak; what it’s witnessed, where it’s been, and how it reflects who we are.
This workshop is free for all. We encourage minimal waste, so please bring your paper, sketchbooks, or other drawing instruments along with your creativity with yourself. We will have A4 sheets, basic pointer pens, pencils, and erasers available from our end if needed.
Nani Ghar Drawing Room is a weekly drawing series where we create and share art together. This series is inclusive for all people wanting to make art in a judgement free zone. No prior skills required, just your imaginations!
The Drawing Room is also a community-led initiative, so feel free to propose what you'd like to do next. This is also an opportunity for anyone who wants to lead a workshop! If you have an idea, and would like to lead a workshop, please reach out, the team will be there to support you in planning and facilitation.
