Drawing Room: Parks & Recreation

Drawing Room: Parks & Recreation

6:00 to 8:00
In-Person
Facilitator: Fatima Javaid

We will learn how to make zines around the general theme of parks and really think about what an ideal park looks like for us. We will write, draw & make collages with these zines!

The goal is to explore our relationship to outdoor spaces in a city like ours - what does it meant to have access to them and what would it take to make it more accessible?

Fatima, for example, loved going to Kidney Hill because of how near she is to it and how it doesn't feel as artificial to her. However, they've also started making changes that make it accessible to more people but also harm the environment around it. A lot to think about!

This workshop is free for all. We encourage minimal waste, so please bring your paper, sketchbooks, or other drawing instruments along with your creativity with yourself. We will have A4 sheets, basic pointer pens, pencils, and erasers available from our end if needed.

Nani Ghar Drawing Room is a weekly drawing series where we create and share art together. This series is inclusive for all people wanting to make art in a judgement free zone. No prior skills required, just your imaginations!

The Drawing Room is also a community-led initiative, so feel free to propose what you'd like to do next. This is also an opportunity for anyone who wants to lead a workshop! If you have an idea, and would like to lead a workshop, please reach out, the team will be there to support you in planning and facilitation.
