We'll use magazines as a starting point for drawing. We will all browse through a collection of magazines, choose an image that catches their attention, and build a completely new drawing around it. You might continue a landscape beyond the edge of the page, give someone a new body, turn a headline into a scene, or take your drawing somewhere completely unexpected.

This is an invitation to play with composition, experiment with found imagery, and see where your imagination takes you. There is no right way to approach it, and every magazine clipping offers a different starting point.

We'll also spend time browsing magazines together, sharing interesting finds, and chatting about the images we come across. Some of Zunera's favourite conversations have started over a magazine page, and they'd love to bring that same sense of curiosity and connection into the drawing room.No drawing experience is needed. Just come ready to cut, tear, draw, and make something that didn't exist before.

This workshop is free for all. We encourage minimal waste, so please bring your paper, sketchbooks, or other drawing instruments along with your creativity with yourself. We will have A4 sheets, basic pointer pens, pencils, and erasers available from our end if needed.

Nani Ghar Drawing Room is a weekly drawing series where we create and share art together. This series is inclusive for all people wanting to make art in a judgement free zone. No prior skills required, just your imaginations!

The Drawing Room is also a community-led initiative, so feel free to propose what you'd like to do next. This is also an opportunity for anyone who wants to lead a workshop! If you have an idea, and would like to lead a workshop, please reach out, the team will be there to support you in planning and facilitation.
