Drawing Room: Anyone Can Wear the Mask

Drawing Room: Anyone Can Wear the Mask

Thursday, May 22, 2025
6:00 to 8:00
In-Person

Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes. They are power fantasies that are meant to be relatable to most every person, they are a personification of everyday strife and how people overcome those. They teach us both to be compassionate and to stand up to evil and highlight a great level of individual expression in the form of colorful, unique and bold costumes that are worn shamelessly not just without fear but as a showcase of one's inner self.

This workshop will hope to explore the idea of how these ideals and this self expression can be adapted to your personal lives. What problems do you want superheroes to go up against? What traits would you want to relate to in your heroes?

This workshop is free for all. We encourage minimal waste, so please bring your paper, sketchbooks, or other drawing instruments along with your creativity with yourself. We will have A4 sheets, basic pointer pens, pencils, and erasers available from our end if needed.

Nani Ghar Drawing Room is a weekly drawing series where we create and share art together. This series is inclusive for all people wanting to make art in a judgement free zone. No prior skills required, just your imaginations!

The Drawing Room is also a community-led initiative, so feel free to propose what you'd like to do next. This is also an opportunity for anyone who wants to lead a workshop! If you have an idea, and would like to lead a workshop, please reach out, the team will be there to support you in planning and facilitation.
