Calling all artists, illustrators, animators, designers, and beginners who are curious about drawing as a way to communicate ideas and better understand the human figure!

Gesture lies at the heart of animation. It begins with the ability to observe the figure with attention to movement, rhythm, and emotion, understanding how the body carries energy and how to translate that life onto the page.

In this workshop, animator Shehzar Abro will be sharing the drawing principles used by professional animators to capture performance, weight, and character. Through guided practice, industry insights, and drawing exercises, we will explore a new approach to figure drawing. Moving beyond stiff poses and learning how to draw with clarity, intention, and energy.

We’ll explore:
● How animators capture movement quickly and efficiently
● Using lines and simple shapes to solve perspective and complex poses
● How to ensure a character feels balanced and grounded
● Drawing poses that feel alive, expressive, and full of character

This is a hands-on workshop, and participants will receive active feedback along with practical tools to strengthen their drawing practice. You are encouraged to bring your tablets and laptops, we will also have art material available on our end!
