Trauma Informed Care for Mental Health Professionals

Girah-e-Isthiraq (knots of collaboration) is a collaboration with Pakistani mental health experts settled abroad to co-develop and deliver a 2-week training with arts-based embedded modules on key competency area ;Trauma Informed Approaches. The capacity building was offered to psychologists in the public sector in Sindh held in May 2024. The aim of Girah-e-Ishtiraq is to advocate for the uptake of the developed novel capacity enhancement between diaspora and local psychologists within the Sindh public health education systems for community impact. This project was funded by the International Organization for Migration.
Participants included Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Pharmacists, Nurses and Life Skills Workers from the Mental Health Sector.
The lead trainer for this course was Sara Khatri from Mehfooz Wellbeing, accompanied by Abeer Ahmed, Rutaba Syed and Maria Iqbal from CFAW.
