Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Through Art Therapy for Specialists
Description
This course is an exploration of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills through art experientials. DBT is an evidence-based therapy derived from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is prevalent as an affective model of coping for many individuals. DBT contains a multitude of skills that are not just specifically just beneficial for individuals with borderline personality disorder but can be utilized an individual's day to day.
The course is divided into four segments, the DBT pillars: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotion regulation, which are further spread out in a total of 8 sessions.
The course does not only offer informational learning, but also experiential learning through art making and practicing of skills including deep reflection and emotional processing.
