What Paper Makes (Paper Making Workshop)
What Paper Makes (Paper Making Workshop)
Saturday, January 10, 2026
11AM to 4PM
In-Person
Facilitator: Alizeh Afzal
This two-day workshop is an invitation to start the new year by slowing down, thinking, dreaming, and creating together. Through paper making, binding and conversations about materiality and publishing, we'll think about queer stories, histories, intimacies, and everyday fragments and how we can hold them in material form. We'll work with pulp, recycled, and found paper and simple hand binding techniques. In the process of making paper, the recycled paper is never erased. It lingers as fibre, texture, and trace.
This workshop invites you to work with what has already been held and lived with, allowing new forms to remember the old. It will be held at @cfaw_ on 10th and 11th January 2026 from 11 AM -4PM
This project was only made possible with the generous support of @queerunschoolsouthasia , @azizisohail and @kaalo.101. This workshop emerged from conversations during Queer Unschool 2024 during a workshop with the wonderful @anshikavarma @offsetprojects
