Symbols of the Self: The Mask/Persona
Symbols of the Self: The Mask/Persona
12:00 to 2:00
In-Person
Facilitator: Wishaal Khalid
Price: 1500
The persona is the face we present to the world. It is the role we play in society in order to be accepted, understood, and to function. While necessary, over-identification with the persona can lead to a sense of emptiness or inauthenticity.
Symbol: The Mask
Medium: Create wearable masks using paper and art material
This 8-session offering uses art-making as a psychological and symbolic journey, inspired by Jung’s idea of opposites and the importance of balancing them in the psyche. Each session focuses on a symbolic archetype, while the next focuses on its opposite- this helps us dive deeper into a symbol than we could by studying it by itself, and shows us how to address the dark side of each.
Each session will also feature one primary artistic medium, allowing participants to explore inner landscapes through varied material experiences.
These sessions are designed to move from instinct and chaos into meaning and complexity, and finally toward integration and wholeness. No prior art experience is required. The emphasis is on process, unconscious exploration, and shared imagination.
📅 Saturday, May 16th
⏳ 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM
🎟️ Rs 1500/-
